Raxola - ST - 1978

Belgium punk 77! They were the first so-called "punk" band in Belgium performing real raw power pop tunes.
Nowadays they are back with a new single and work on a new album.

Normals - Your Punk Heritage 1977-1984

Great Louisiana punk outfit!
Your Punk Heritage compiles the "Almost Ready" single, an obscure, yet essential, U.S. punk-era benchmark; a clutch of demo sessions (some self-produced, with others abandoned after the band's funds ran out); and live tracks from the 1984 reunion show.

Lewd - Kill Yourself...Again (1999, compilation)

THE LEWD, the legendary San Francisco punkrock band of 'Trashcan baby', 'Kill yourself' etc fame. No less than 29 songs, including their American wino lp, compilation tracks as well as about an entire record of previously unreleased tracks/versions.

Joe Cool & The Killers - Killers (1977)

Joe Cool and his band of Brits formed in '77 only to split one year later. Just one 7" titled "I Just Don't Care" and one LP document their existence. Their LP "Killer" was originally released in 1978 on the major Ariola Records. Later in the 1978 their guitarist, Tony Mayberry, departed for the Depressions.

A mandatory listen for anyone into punk of the '77 era.

Foreign Objects - Violent World LP (US)

Foreign Objects's heritage was that of the garage - from '60s thugs such as the Sonics, through to the pre-punk teen damage of the Dictators, right on into the junk culture mania of the Gizmos and the simple-spoken truths of the Ramones.

Cinecyde - I Left My Heart in Detroit City (1982)

Detroit has been the site of several musical generations of punk; Cinecyde emerged on the local scene there in the late '70s, gigging and releasing records (by several bands as well as compilations) on their own label. Following a sneery pair of rudimentary 7-inch EPs and some singles, I Left My Heart in Detriot was the groups first full length. A great mix of powerpop with a punk punch. Don't come crying to me is my favorite song from them.

LATEX NOVELTIES - A Girl's Best Friend

Inspired by the sounds of The Ramones, New York Dolls, Bowie, Dead Boys and many more, Latex Novelties brought Indianapolis a good kickin' of punk like they'd never seen before. Formed in 1978, they're still making music today.

Billy Karloff And The Extremes - Let Your Fingers Do The Talking (1981)

1977-1978 Billy Karloff & the Goats played regularly at the Roxy, London's famous Punk club. Later in 1978 he made an album called The Maniac under the name Billy Karloff Band.
Having been enjoined from using the name Billy Karloff & the Supremes, a later incarnation (including ex-Tom Robinson Band drummer Dolph Taylor) ultimately became the Extremes. Great power-pop/mod album!

Battered Wives - S/T (1978)

The Battered Wives were part of that same Queen Street scene that spawned The Viletones, Diodes, Teenage Head, The Curse, The Ugly and dozens of other bands that populated Toronto's downtown during the lava-hot summer of 1977.

Amber Squad - Arewehavinganotherinhereorwhat? (UK)

Coming out of Rutland (near Lincoln) in early 1980, the Amber Squad played a fine mix of Pub Rock / Power-Pop / Ska and Punk Rock and soon built up a reputation as a great live band with their powerful originals and classic R&B covers.
Featuring both singles, the compilation appearance and 14 previously unreleased tracks and great artwork and liner notes by the band this is a release that anyone with an interest in the Mod / Punk era cannot afford to be without.
